spontaneity and a playlist.

spontaneity.

My word of the month. So exciting. So s p o n t a n e o u s. Let's act. Just go. Live.

Last Wednesday I did something so utterly spontaneous and so utterly freeing. Meeting a stranger can be incredibly daunting (will they like me? will it be awkward? what happens if we don't connect?) which is exactly why I didn't give myself a chance to feel nervous. I just did.

And now I'm going to just do.

Below are a few snaps of my London adventure with my new Dutch friend Sophie. And some very spontaneous songs to dance around to.  Urgh. I am now entirely in love with spontaneity and quite possibly even more addicted to adventure...

(above was taken on Ciara's 18th... we  slept in this beautiful tent and got a little bit drunk prank calling pizza places like 9 year olds)

All pictures were taken from my instagram (oceanpainter_) Do give the songs a try- they are so inspiring.

Be spontaneously spontaneous in moments that beg for spontaneity,
-J

(let me know below any post ideas... I've got a few autumn ideas eek)

soon + summer bucket list.

This is my bucket list for August. I've been feeling so inspired recently yet this feeling has been accompanied by a horrible loneliness and a sense of trapped(ness?) School is so incredibly time consuming- so much so that I have had to say no to things because of its pressure this summer. It's draining. I want to write and photograph and laugh and I can't because I'm stuck in this educational system. Urgh.

Above are some pictures from my tumblr that keep me motivated. I look at them and think 'soon'...because 'soon' I'll be finished with this stage in my life and 'soon' I'll be on an aeroplane exploring a new city across the ocean and 'soon' I'll be laughing with a freedom I haven't experienced in a long while. Happiness isn't always found in the most conventional sense.

This too shall pass,
-J

*apologies for my messy writing this morning*

(I have been thinking of posting some more of my writing on here, let me know if you would be interested. There are also two new videos up on my YouTube channel - link in side bar)

a lazy day // songs

In a slightly more aesthetically pleasing depiction, this is what a lazy day looks like to me. I'm talking geek glasses (because why ever say no to geek glasses), graphic tees, Cath Kidston mugs, pretty books and Spotify. Today is my last day off before school starts again. Wish me luck, I'm dreading it. I haven't done nearly enough work- it's not good. School first, kids!

I'm super in to music at the moment and have compiled together some of my favourite tunes. Let me know what you think. I have no idea what my 'taste is'.... maybe indie pop?

In other news, I also filmed a new YouTube video on this subject. Do check it out [x]

latest buys + update

Hello! Honestly, I feel like I am in a bit of a blogging rut at the moment. Obviously I have been busy (what with going on NCS and just enjoying the first part of summer) yet I fear that it is not the only reason for my absence. I have many outfit posts lined up but I don't want to lose what made this blog personal. What made you guys like this blog so much. What made me like this blog so much. If you have any types of posts you would really like to see then please leave me a comment - it would be so helpful. I hope to post some more writing(y) type posts about being a teenager and maybe some more short stories? I don't know... I guess I'll just try and be creative!

Today, I wanted to share with you some of my most recent purchases AKA bargains! After being deprived of shopping for so long, it felt so great to get buying again. Here is a little snapshot of what has recently become members of my wardrobe:

1// These shoes are literally from the feet of a granny but I LOVE THEM. £4 from a charity shop and after  personalised with black ribbon they have become the quirkiest item in my wardrobe!

2// Primark shorts are such good value. The ones on the right were only £3! Perfect for summer on the beach.

3// Mom Jeans finally inhabit my wardrobe! Yes, they were expensive but for long lasting jeans that go with ANYTHING, I'd say it was worth £40. The retro tee is from a charity shop for £3. I had a browse in the men's section and fell in love.

Okay, so I feel like this was the WORST post I have ever written. I'm so out of touch with blogging after all my exams - please bear with me. As I said earlier, leave a comment with some ideas and keep smiling :)
